The online Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science program (BS CLS) offers working professional Clinical
Laboratory Technicians (CLTs) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs) opportunities to learn the knowledge and skills
needed for continued professional growth in their field without traveling to a college campus.
The University of Cincinnati program gives you the tools you need to succeed, delivered in a convenient distance
learning format.
Students in the distance learning program complete courses sequentially via the course web site. Courses are conducted
online. Typically, students should anticipate studying about 20 hours per week to ensure completion of each course on time.
At the conclusion of the requisite courses, students will complete clinical experiences in a clinical
laboratory near their home. |

The University of Cincinnati’s NAACLS-accredited CLS program prepares students for the Board of Registry exam sponsored by the American Society for Clinical Pathology for the MT (ASCP) credential, and for the National Credentialing Agency exam sponsored by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science for the CLS (NCA) credential. Individual states may have different regulations on state certification or licensure eligibility. Every prospective student should review his or her state’s requirements prior to enrolling in a program and consult the appropriate state office.
